Buying Groceries

One of the best things to do in Weligama while spending time at a hotel such as Ayurvie Weligama would be to spend time at the beach. But if you want to purchase some snacks to munch on while at the beach, make sure to visit one of the many grocery stores located in Weligama. In addition to big stores such as Cargills or Sathosa, there are many local grocery stores. These tend to stock both local and international snacks thus one would not have any difficulty finding an appropriate snack.

Buying Liquor

Liquor can easily be purchased from a grocery or wine store. In Weligama, there are only two liquor shops with government certifications. Therefore, if one visits these establishments between 9 am and 9 pm they would be able to find what they are looking for. But be advised that the sale of liquor is prohibited in Sri Lanka on full moon Poya days.

Buying Medicine

As a tourist, finding and buying medicine from a pharmacy would not be difficult. In Sri Lanka, almost all pharmacies have a white sign with a green or red cross on it. This thus makes it easy to locate these establishments. Therefore, if one loses or misplaces their medication they can easily replace it as long as they have a prescription or know the name of the medication.

When it comes to the purchase of electronic goods, one would be able to find a number of shops that sell such items. However, it is always advisable to visit branded stores that offer warranties when purchasing electronics. Thus, that is why it is recommended that one visit stores such as Abans, Softlogic, Damro and Singer. Furthermore, if these stores lack the particular item you require, they would be able to bring it down from one of their other branches.
