While Bangkok has plenty of glamorous malls for high-end shopping, there’s nothing quite like experiencing the colour (and sometimes chaos!) of lively night markets. The Patpong Night Bazaar is just such a place, perfect for a night time adventure!

Getting there

The Patpong Night Bazaar (or night market) can be found in the area called Silom. A five minute cab ride from city accommodation options the likes of Anantara Sathorn Bangkok Hotel, the market can also be easily reached via Skytrain (Sala Daeng Station) or the MRT (Silom Station).

Lots to buy

When it comes to things to do in Thailand, Bangkok offers lots of shopping fun and the Patpong Night Bazaar is no different. Here you will find everything from handmade jewellery to fashion accessories and local souvenirs to DVDs. Do note that not all brand name items are the “real deal”!

Keep in mind

Do remember that prices may seem overly high, but that’s because you are expected to bargain; do some research ahead so you have a rough idea of prices. The market is open daily from six in the evening till midnight, ideal for some night time shopping.

When hunger strikes

As with most local markets, there are plenty of choices when it comes to grabbing a quick snack or a full meal. While you do get international fast food chains nearby, not to be missed is a chance to sample delicious Thai street food. The brave foodie can even try some fried insects here!
