New Kids on the Block

Colombo’s mall scene received a new lease of life with the opening of the sprawling, seven-storey One Galle Face as well as the Colombo City Centre, a five-minute walk from Residence by Uga Escapes. International designer brands like Armani Exchange, Charles & Keith, Aldo and Mango can be found here along with dining venues and cinema options.

All-time Favourites

Of course, the city also has other well-established malls such as Majestic City and Crescat Boulevard too; within easy reach of hotels in Colombo, these retail hubs offer everything from clothing and electronics to dining options at their respective food courts. Also popular is the Odel Department Store offering branded clothing.

Individual Stores

There are lots of individual shops as well; GFlock, Kelly Felder, Arienti and Mimosa feature trendy dresses, while Hameedias and Shirt Works offer suits, office wear and shirts for men. Big-name clothing stores such as No Limit, Fashion Bug, Spring & Summer and House of Fashion offer relatively cheaper clothing for the entire family.

Pettah Market

For an altogether different shopping experience, the Pettah Market is the place to go to. This part of the city is much like one huge open-air market; the pavements and maze-like streets are home to vendors selling fresh produce, mobile phones, jewellery, electronics, shoes, bags and clothing. Tip; remember to bargain!
