Colourful Markets in Uluwatu, Bali, Worth Exploring
Shopping Fun in a Coastal Paradise
While Uluwatu in Bali is famed for its stunning clifftop temple and sublime waves for surfing, this idyllic destination is also an ideal place for shopping at local markets. If you are planning your first trip here, these are some of the key places to go for some laid-back retail therapy.
Hatch Market
Also known as the Sundaze Market, this popular place to shop can be found within easy reach of properties like Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort. It’s held every Sunday and is generally open from around 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. You can expect everything from distinctive handicrafts to delectable foodie delights. The great thing is there’s also live entertainment and a corner for kids, making it very family-friendly, too.
Seed Market
Taking place on Saturdays, this is another weekend market which you can easily visit when based at one of the top Uluwatu resorts close to Bingin. Amongst the key highlights here is the fact that it focuses on local communities and being eco-friendly; you will find products from Balinese artisans as well as fresh produce, giving you the chance to support locals with your purchases.
Camden Market
While being a world away from the other Camden Market (shout-out to Camden Town in London!), this shopping hotspot in Uluwatu has its own charm. It provides the ideal opportunity to buy items from local vendors, including everything from handicrafts and jewellery to clothing and collectables. Take your time and browse the stalls for unique finds at this market, which comes alive every weekend.
