Well known among travellers and holidaymakers, the idyllic island of Phuket, also a southern province of Thailand, conjures images of tropical vacations, sunny skies and gorgeous beaches. While enjoying the distinction of being the largest island of Thailand, Phuket used to enjoy economic success through primary goods such as rubber but in the 21st century, the island’s fame as a tourist destination is almost unprecedented.

Given that the island predominantly caters to tourists, it is filled with luxury resorts such as the truly magnificent Point Yamu by COMO Phuket. Tourists residing in such hotels are rarely bored or idle for their time is filled with exploring all that Phuket has to offer including amazing shopping experiences! For tourists seeking shopping malls, Phuket does not disappoint. The Central Festival Phuket is located just beyond the town and is perfect for purchasing electronic items as well as the latest clothing styles. The Mall is equipped with a cinema halls as well as renowned restaurants making the Mall a wonderful place to spend even a day. One of the highlights of Central Festival Mall is B2S, a haven for the book and stationary enthusiast and their sales are not to be missed.

Similarly, another centre is the Jungceylon Shopping Mall located on Patong Beach complete with two major stores: Robinson and Big C supermarket. For travellers seeking to shop like the locals, the Phuket Weekend Market, or the Talad Tairod as the locals would call it, is the best place to go for second-hand goodies and bargain sales. Complete with numerous Thai foods, at this Market, haggling and bargaining is an art form and you can always stock up on energy by snacking on delicious Thai eatables. Another well known shopping attraction is the Phuket Walking Street located in the Old Town and the Karon Bazaar on Karon Beach road. It is, thus, abundantly clear that the shopping in Phuket is as good as it is on mainland and tourists can purchase a myriad of goods and souvenirs ranging from silks and clothes to electronics and handmade items.
