Bangkok, the capital city of the South East Asian country, Thailand is one of a kind and has many attractions including excursions in Bangkok, shopping opportunities, and religious tours. There is no shortage of accommodation as there are modest motels and inns as well as luxurious hotels and resorts such as the AVANI Atrium Bangkok and though the traffic can be a deterrent one must always discover as much of Bangkok as they can.

The Papaya Vintage Shop in Bangkok is another unique adventure in terms of shopping for vintage items, but hold on to your hat, not all goods displayed are for sale. The owner is indisputably proud of the collection of items and is far too fond of some to let go. Further, given all the objects, toys, furniture, decorative items and figures that are available, fashion stars, models and designers have found the shop to be an ideal venue for their photo shoots. The owner charges thumping amounts from professional photographers and for the use of his items as props.

The shop itself resembles more of a workshop cum warehouse and is located in the outskirts of Bangkok, in a neighbourhood that isn’t very prosperous. There isn’t a dearth of goods anywhere inside; in fact, one could easily pronounce that the shop is cluttered all the way up to the topmost floor where the photo shoots take place. Colourful figures of Batman, Wolverine and Superman can be found on the floor where there are a bunch of other toys as well. The lanterns, furniture from the sixties, vases, bowls, old TV sets, gramophones, and ornaments sit all over the building in a manner that is unobtrusive. Some vivid-hued scooters which were probably ridden in the dusty streets of Bangkok a few decades ago now stand to gleam and squeaky clean inside the Papaya Vintage Shop.
